Akabana Consulting joins key NISO working group.

We're happy to announce that in December 2024, Akabana Consulting was invited to join the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT) Standing Committee at the National Information Standards Organization (NISO).

Correct attribution of contributions made to a project by team members is essential for ensuring that individuals receive proper credit for their work, fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and gratitude. Giving credit where credit is due also ensures transparency, and clarifies ownership which is vital for maintaining trust within teams and across stakeholders and motivating people to collaborate effectively and volunteer more in the future. NISO's Contributor Role Taxonomy provides a valuable framework describe the key types of contributions typically made to the production and publication of research output such as research articles and reviews.

CRediT is a community-owned 14 role taxonomy that was approved as an ANSI/NISO standard in 2022 and available for re-use under a CC-BY 4.0 license. CRediT descriptors are now available in a range of languages in addition to English.

Akabana Consulting is delighted to be part of this important project and look forward to learning and contributing going forward.
